The most popular works for Asians and Africans in Poland

When it comes to foreigners, many citizens of Ukraine and Belarus work in Poland. Due to the similarity of the Slavic languages and the fairly frequent knowledge of the Russian language in our country, they can work after a quick language course, e.g. in shops and cleaning or taking care of children. Newcomers from Asia and Africa will need a minimum of one year to learn Polish to the same degree, so they do jobs where Polish is not required and knowledge of English is enough. What are these jobs? In this article, we will discuss the most popular activities among newcomers from these parts.

  1. Fish processing
    In this profession, knowledge of the Polish language is not required, because after training, consisting in showing how to perform this work, the employee can repeat the indicated activities on his own. Foreigners usually deal with: portioning, filleting, marinating and smoking fish as well as packing them in canned food.
  2. Meat processing
    This profession also does not require knowledge of the Polish language and many activities can be performed after training in the company. These are most often: carcass cutting into parts and trimming of small meat and the production of meat products, offal and canned meat, fats, delicatessen products, ready-made meat dishes, including portioning, slicing and packing. Meat processing is the largest branch of the food industry.
  3. Furniture production
    The furniture industry is a fascinating industry. You may have to deal with the creation of useful and beautiful items. The task of the employees is to make individual pieces of furniture. This is done automatically with the use of specialized machines. Later, these elements are subjected to grinding treatment. They should also be sanded and thoroughly cleaned.
  4. Construction and finishing works, pavers and bricklayers
    The construction industry in Poland is very developed and there is still a need for hands. People with construction experience and skills are worth their weight in gold! Building houses, interior finishing and paving are usually well-paid jobs.
  5. Mushroom harvest
    Mushrooms are a product that guests on our tables all year round. As a result, their cultivation also eludes the seasons. Professional mushroom farms, from which mushrooms find their way to shop shelves, are often located in halls where certain conditions are strictly maintained. The demand for mushrooms does not decrease, and therefore the need to hire mushrooms and champignons does not decrease.
  6. Slaughter of animals
    A slaughterhouse is a facility where animals are delivered for slaughter in order to obtain meat from them. It is an occupation that requires special care to ensure that the obtained product meets the requirements of safe food of guaranteed and required quality. Appropriate hygiene conditions are required during slaughter and during post-slaughter processing. Each stage is equally important and taking care of all of them is invaluable in order to obtain a high-quality product.
  7. Harvesting fruits and vegetables
    Fruit harvest in Poland is estimated at over 4 million tonnes, i.e. 3.3% higher than in the previous year. Harvest of apples, cherries and cherries will increase in particular. As for vegetables, mainly the production of greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers will be higher. As you can see, the harvest is growing and therefore pickers will also be needed. In some greenhouses, electric trolleys are used for work, which allow you to pick vegetables at different heights. It is also important to choose the most beautiful, ripe vegetables and fruits.
  8. Sorting
    An employee (waste sorter) operates the municipal waste segregation line. While moving the belts with waste, it sorts and selects recyclable materials, such as: glass, plastic bottles and packaging, waste paper, aluminum cans, larger-sized waste, wood, batteries, packaging for plant protection products, etc. The sorter also manually transports waste in containers and pours them from containers to containers or other larger packaging for waste storage.
  9. Packing
    The packer is responsible for the correct packaging of goods. It depends on him whether the delivered package will be damaged and the shipped goods will be correct. As a rule, a packer is a person dealing with various types of goods flow – these can be items produced by the company for which he works, and which are sent to distributors and customers. He can also work in a company that supplies products to production companies. The packer is primarily a manual worker who deals with the efficient operation of the transmission and packaging of parcels.
  10. Work in a sawmill
    Working in a sawmill is responsible work, as wood is a noble and highly valued material. The entire production process determines the quality of the final product (i.e. floor, windows or doors). In this process, it is important to comply with the technological rules that enable the maintenance of quality standards. The sawmill worker must accept and properly prepare the wood material. As a result, it deals with: material evaluation, raw material processing, and sawmill machinery maintenance. Many sawmill plants also produce wooden fancy goods, packaging or construction elements.

To sum up, there are many interesting work activities waiting for newcomers from Asia and Africa in Poland. From harvesting, through food processing, to building houses, interior finishing and paving driveways and sidewalks. So you can see that these activities are very diverse and you can find something interesting among them.
