Established in 2012, the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) is a public institution funded by the municipal of Shenzhen, a special economic zone city in southern China. Shenzhen is a major city located in Southern China, situated immediately north of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. As one of China’s major gateways to the world, Shenzhen is the country’s fast-growing city in the past two decades. The city is the high-tech and manufacturing hub of southern China. As a State-level innovative city, Shenzhen has chosen independent innovation as the dominant strategy for its development.

The Southern University of Science and Technology is a pioneer in higher education reform in China. The teaching language at SUSTech is bilingual, either English or Putonghua.

Successful candidates are expected to establish vigorous research programs in the related disciplinary areas, mentor graduate students, participate in the national and international research community, and teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates should possess doctoral degrees and demonstrate research accomplishment and/or potential. Senior candidates are expected to play the leadership role of research and education. In order to create a diversified and internationalized campus for the cultivation of the competence needed in the 21st Century for a global society, SUSTech is committed to engaging excellent students from all over the world to attend her excellent undergraduate degree programs. The Scholarship will sponsor international students who meet the admission criteria of SUSTech for the undergraduate degree programs, starting from the entering cohort of Fall 2016. The scholarship will cover for four years of enrolment for a student.
