The fourth wave of the pandemic continues. Every day we see many new COVID-19 infections. For the sake of our safety, stronger restrictions are necessary. Increasing the limit will be possible only for vaccinated persons verified by the entrepreneur using the COVID-19 certificate or the QR code
• From December 15, the limits of people will be tightened:
restaurants, bars and hotels – max. 30 percent occupancy by unvaccinated persons (increasing the limit will only be possible for vaccinated persons verified by the entrepreneur using the COVID-19 certificate or the QR code)
cinemas, theaters, sports and religious facilities – max. 30 percent occupancy by unvaccinated persons (increasing the limit will be possible for vaccinated and verified persons with the COVID-19 certificate or Qr code)
Additionally, it will be forbidden to eat and drink in cinemas during screenings.
• Remote learning
From December 20, 2021 to January 9, 2022, all primary and secondary school students will learn remotely.
Nurseries and kindergartens will continue to function unchanged.
• Closed clubs and discos
Clubs, discos and other places open to dancing will be closed from December 15 until further notice. The exception will be New Year’s Eve (31.12-1.01). On this night, events can take place in a strict sanitary regime – max. 100 people (the limit does not apply to people who have the COVID-19 certificate).
• Mandatory Coronavirus Testing
From December 15, each person before arriving to Poland from outside the Schengen area will have to test for COVID-19. The test should be performed not earlier than 24 hours before crossing the border. Importantly, vaccination does not release you from testing.
• From December 15, the compulsory test will also apply to people
who live with someone infected with COVID-19. Again, vaccination will not release you from testing.
Currently, the following are authorized for trading in the European Union:
• An mRNA vaccine called Comirnaty (BNT162b2) from Pfizer and BioNTech
• Moderna mRNA vaccine (mRNA 1273)
• AstraZeneca vector vaccine called Vaxzevria (ChAdOx1 nCoV-19)
• Janssen vector vaccine (Ad26.COV.2-S).
Poland applies the principle of acceptance and recognition of vaccines recognized by the European Medicines Agency. So those vaccines that have been recognized there, and are used in Poland, will be recognized, they are mainly AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech and Moderna vaccines. And all those that are or will be approved by the European Medicines Agency
Important! From November 30 to December 27, flights are banned from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. People returning from these countries cannot be released from quarantine for 14 days.
The provisions on quarantine for people coming from Schengen countries do not apply to people who have:
EU digital COVID certification for COVID-19 vaccination, COVID-19 infection or negative COVID-19 test;
certificate of vaccination, test result and recovery due to COVID-19 recognized as equivalent to the EU COVID Certificate.
Increasing the number of infections means a greater risk of getting sick. Vaccination is the most effective method of boosting your immunity – it allows you to avoid getting COVID-19 or smooth the coronavirus.
